Raymond Key, founder of Woodmasters, Inc.,
Raymond Key and Sons has been building in the Residential Construction
Industry since
1981. From an early age, he learned from the “old-timers” in
the trade and as a result he developed craftsman skill and pride
in quality,
which transferred as the ultimate mission of our Residential Division.
Woodmasters, Inc. has specialty expertise in intricate stairways, multi-piece
interior millwork systems, as well as radius work.
Over the years we have worked with numerous Housing Authorities in the
Greater Hampton Roads area including Norfolk, Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport
News, Suffolk as well as the Department of Neighborhood Preservation
in Virginia Beach. We have participated in numerous neighborhood revitalization
projects throughout these cities providing Affordable Housing with exquisite

as well as Westchurch located on Church Street in Norfolk, Campostella
Square in Chesapeake, and other projects throughout Newport News, Hampton
and Virginia Beach.
Woodmasters, Inc., Raymond Key and Sons also is a Custom Home
Builder and participated in the showcase homes in the 2006 Homearama, which featured
an intricate stairway, six-piece crown molding trim package, cherry cabinets
with glass doors, ceramic tile, and rustic cherry hardwood flooring.
Experience includes architectural adherence to development strategies
incorporated in corridor studies such as those by Urban Design
Associates as well as city neighborhood design standards and preferred patterns.
Architectural exterior elevation facades include Victorian, Craftsman,
Colonial, American Traditional, Georgian and Urban.
Multi-Family Housing is another area of expertise. We recently completed
Marshall Manor Phase III of the Broad Creek Renaissance project located
in Norfolk, which consisted of forty-seven multi-family units.
Over the past fifteen years, Woodmasters, Inc., Raymond Key and Sons
also performed hundreds of renovation, remodeling, historical,
rehabilitation projects in the Tidewater area. Most projects
included “whole-house” renovations
